The Future is Electric with Volkswagen - and it begins with the ID.4 SUV.

Huge buzz is already surrounding the two highly anticipated Volkswagen electric concept vehicles: ID.4 and, of course, ID. BUZZ. Based on manufacturer estimates of EPA test cycles, each is anticipated to have an impressive range off a single charge and characteristic Volkswagen performance. The cockpits of tomorrow will be packed with technology and still have more comfy room for you. Welcome to the space age in more ways than one.

The ID.4 SUV - Batteries Included.

Based on the ID.CROZZ concept, the ID.4 is the second vehicle to use the Group's modular electric drive architecture (MEB), following the compact ID.3, and the first to be sold in America. The "ID" name stands for intelligent design, identity and visionary technologies, and the number 4 identifies the new model as a compact SUV segment. And yes, officially, there's no extra space in the name when you write it out - it's simply ID.4With its high-energy battery pack in the floor, the ID.4 wraps a highly aerodynamic exterior around an open-space interior, with a cockpit controlled by touch or voice interactions.

The ID.4 is anticipated to launch in a sporty rear-wheel-drive configuration, with a powerful, all-wheel-drive two-motor variation to come soon thereafter. Based on preliminary manufacturer estimates under the EPA test cycle, the ID.4 is expected to offer more than 250 miles of range, along with high levels of innovative technologies and connectivity.

ID. Buzz - It's ok to say "Groovy" again.

Oh this little bus? With an anticipated 369-hp electric motor, it'll just get more exciting the closer it gets to our dealership.

Designed to recall the original Type 2 Microbus without mimicking it, the I.D. Buzz concept has won several awards in the months since it was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show. The front V in the bodywork calls back to the two-tone predecessor on the original Bus, but in the I.D. Buzz carries a light strip that surrounds the vehicle and gives it a unique visual signature. The LED headlights have hexagonal segments that act as "eyes" to communicate the vehicle's status. With near-zero body overhangs and 22-inch wheels, the I.D. Buzz manages to look modern and timeless, one of the hallmarks of Volkswagen brand design.

The first VW Bus sold in the United States in 1950 had all of 30 hp. The I.D. Buzz concept sports 369 hp from electric motors on each axle that also provide all wheel drive and the 111 kWh battery pack in the floor of the MEB chassis provide nearly 300 miles of estimated range. Using a VW fast-charge system, it can recharge about 80 percent of its energy capacity in 30 minutes at 150 kW.
